Peruvian Potential: Can Peru power the global produce market?

From blueberries to grapes: discover how Peru is shaping the future of global fresh produce exports.

Peru has become one of the world’s most dynamic fresh produce exporters – and its story is only just beginning. In this episode of the FRUIT LOGISTICA Podcast, recorded live at the 2025 show in Berlin, host Chris White speaks with Piero Razeto of AGAP, Peru’s national growers’ association.

From berries to asparagus

Peru’s success spans a wide variety of crops – from blueberries, mangoes, and grapes to asparagus and pomegranates. With exports worth US$12bn in 2024, the country’s produce is now available in markets across Europe, Asia, and North America.

Asia on the horizon

A major milestone has just been reached: Peru was the Official Partner Country at ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA 2025 in Hong Kong. Coupled with the brand-new port of Chancay on Peru’s Pacific coast, this partnership underlined the country’s ambition to halve shipping times to Asia and thus create huge opportunities for exporters across Latin America.

Collaboration across borders

The conversation also highlights how Peru is working with neighboring countries like Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil to make the most of Asia’s growing demand. With government support and new logistics infrastructure, Peru is positioning itself as a true hub for South American produce.

From Lima to the world

Listeners will also hear about the upcoming Peru Meetup in Lima this October, which showcases Peruvian products, farms, and its new port facilities – offering a taste of what’s to come.

How can Peru cement its place as a global leader in fruit and vegetable exports? Tune in to find out.
